"Anybody who comes into the forest will be lost. Everybody will become a Stalfos. Everybody, Stalfos."
So I am waiting for my gamecube controller to come in so I can play wind waker and eventually get twilight princess for gamecube and play that. I was in a huge Zelda mood. This got me thinking about two of my favourite games ever made, ocarina of time and Majora's mask. I find it funny how they are failing miserably with the WiiU sales due to a lack of decent games. But what would sell the console more than some flag ship titles namely Zelda or Mario. Well I don't care for Mario anyways. But They are making a hd remake of wind waker and apparently have a new Zelda title in the making. But these are a little way off I think.
Anyways remember at E3 a little while back when they were revealing the WiiU they had some footage of a Zelda game with super hardcore graphics, like TP's but even better and darker. It looked super badass. But every shred of evidence shows that Nintendo plan on using similar styling to Skyward Sword, which is not a bad game, it's just that it seems like a step back from TP's graphics.
The biggest fans of the series are no doubt those that played OOT and MM or even a link to the past, those fans are most likely much older now. When TP came, so did many of the fans, seeing as it was dark, mature and a true zelda game. Sure there were crappy parts like the start and the wolf parts, but it felt like a Zelda game. I found that SS tried a lot to incorporate things from other genres and rpgs that did not fit (ie, stamina and prince of persia style climbing).
What I am trying to get at is that I think that Nintendo should try and make HD ports of OOT and MM to the WiiU and fans of either would be forced to buy the console. Make them darker and more mature. Give the fans what they want, and you will sell tons of consoles. And don't bother with motion controls on a Zelda game ever again. There's a reason I want to play TP on the Gamecube, I can't stand the controls on Wii.
Anyways after that rant.
That thought process spawned this image. I thought that they are not likely to do what I want, so the closest I can get is do a series of paintings portraying scenes of those two games in they way I would like to see them. Try and make the adventures feel even more epic and real, and show the cost of evil upon the land.
So I have done the best with the skills I have. Hope you enjoy it.
